JICA continues to fund PhilHealth’s service desk activity
One of the targets of the Project is to increase the number of PhilHealth enrollment. Last year, the Project funded PhilHealth’s promotion activity: a team of PhilHealth made periodical visits to municipalities and set up a service desk to help community better understand the advantages of PhilHealth. To bring about a long-term sustainable outcome, the Project continues to financially support the activity this year. 13 municipalities will be again covered and visited by a PhilHealth team.

The Project successfully implemented the training in Japan.
6 MHOs visited a sister city of Benguet, Kochi Prefecture in Japan, to learn the local health system and its organization. These trainees went to, Susaki Welfare Health Center; Yusuhara Health & Welfare Support Center; Kochi National Health Insurance Organization and Kochi Medical Center.
They also made a presentation at JICA headquarters and reported the progress of the Project and what they have achieved so far.
Overall, recipient institutions were impressed with the enthusiasms and awareness of the trainees. The training experience in Japan will definitely be a prospective asset to the Project.
